Acceptance can comfort,

but not at the price of belonging,

of living in someone’s else’s head.

Wearing their glasses—not for empathy—but for their acceptance,

safely surrendering—viewing what they see—as your own perception,

favors turning into expectations,

engenders an angst of sorts—compromising your soul.

First—accept yourself,

trust yourself—be kind to yourself,

create your space, your peace,

your growth, your expression.

And give notice—don’t paint my world.
